Phuket presents to its visitors miles of endless golden beaches, a fabulous tropical climate and clear blue seas with colourful coral reefs.

As the largest island in Thailand, Phuket has numerous attributes making it a very desirable place to live or to holiday. Over three million visitors each year enjoy its luxuriant scenery and the many other attractions the island has to offer. The warmth and friendliness of Thai people, their culture and cuisine all contribute to a world-class resort destination.

The island’s tropical climate ensures a comfortable living environment in which the sun shines almost every day of the year and tropical showers are generally short and a welcome relief to the heat. Major storms are rare and typhoons unknown.

A truly international destination, Phuket is well served by numerous airlines, with direct flights to many points within Asia and beyond. International cruise liners visit the island, which has a well-maintained internal road system and is connected to the mainland by bridges at its most northerly point.

For long-term residents there are several well-equipped hospitals and an international school gaining an excellent reputation for its high standard of education. In addition there are large supermarkets and many other comprehensive shopping facilities. The island’s wide range of excellent resort hotels, restaurants and nightlife all enhance Phuket’s reputation as South East Asia’s favourite resort island.

For sporting types, there is much to offer. Sailing in some of the world’s most scenic seas and bays, diving or snorkelling over world-rated reefs, golf on five courses including Blue Canyon where the Johnnie Walker Cup has been played twice, and for the more adventurous, bungee jumping. There are also two marinas with full yachting services available.
